With Burger King opening many stores with success all across India and Taco bell just having opened in my city (City Beautiful-Chandigarh), I thought it is an apt time to look at some of the big names in food that are yet to make the journey to the city.
If you have a friend from the Delhi NCR region, you have been probably teased about the lack of Starbucks in our city. Regardless of what you might think of the coffee, they make there is no denying the appeal of sitting in a Starbucks restaurant while working on your laptop (or reading a book) and hopefully we’ll see one open soon.
With the success of Chili’s in India and Chandigarh, it should be a no-brainer for Chipotle to make the journey here. Mexican food is rising rapidly in our country, which is no surprise considering how delicious those tacos and burritos are. We hope we can see Chipotle make its mark in India in the next couple of years.
Delhi is already blessed with the gift of Johnny Rockets and with any luck, Chandigarh should be next in line. Their burgers and shakes can give any popular restaurant a run for its money, there aren’t many burger-based restaurants (excluding the likes of McD and Burger King) to begin with in our city.
Wendy’s is the third biggest burger fast food chain after, you guess it—Mcdonalds and Burger King. Popular for their square patties Wendy’s launched in Delhi NCR last year. It has a loyal following in the west who don’t the like the taste of the existing fast food burgers and Chandigarh can definitely use the alternative as well.
The Cheesecake Factory
You might have heard of this one from the popular sitcom The Big Bang Theory. The cheesecake factory started out as a distributor of cheesecakes and now it’s a billion-dollar restaurant juggernaut. We could definitely use its high-calorie signature cheesecake goodness.
