Title: YOUR DESTINATION HAS ARRIVED : An Unbelievable Story You Would Love to Believe
Author: Barry Cheema
Publication: Notion Press
Blurb: Is it possible for the modern man to be happy, not virtually but in reality? Why is it that despite the tones of philosophies, motivational speeches and age-old meditation techniques, inner-peace and contentment seem to be unrealistic and impossible? Bruno, a K9 (police dog), gets a human life as a reward for his phenomenal act of bravery. He can stay in this human body forever, provided he fulfils a condition in the given time. But while doing so, he has to deal with the subconscious mind of this human body, which happens to be that of a terrorist!
A tale of hope, search and longing. An unbelievable story that you would love to believe.
Review: Your Destination Has Arrived is a rather off beat story of a cop dog. And you know how we all love dogs (here’s looking at you, A Dog’s Purpose). The plot of the book is quite interesting. A dog takes a human form and what follows is a philosophical journey for the reader.
The characters of Bruno and Russell are well-developed. They have a lot of layers and surely tug at your hearts. It will also certainly appeal to pet owners. You can actually divide the book into two parts- one the story of Bruno, the dog. And the other is the philosophical part of this book. So, the latter is more like a mirror that would make you want to reevaluate your life.
All in all, this book is a great read. But it feels like it drags on way too long. Personally, I would have preferred if it was shorter. Why? Because that would have made it more crisp to read.
Still, Your Destination Has Arrived is highly recommended for its unconventional storyline and the message it carries.

From the first sentence Barry Cheema draws you into the story with his uncanny visual imagery, playing on your senses with the sights, and sounds surrounding the lead character, Bruno. There is layer upon layer of action and sterling emotions building anticipation for what’s to come next. The twists and turns in the story will catch you off guard. About the time, you think you’ve got the answers, you’ll learn you don’t. The highly imaginative Cheema takes you to some unexpected places in character development and scenery before arriving at your destination. Each chapter is a story, yet it continues contributing to the overall theme of the title, Your Destination Has Arrived by asking profound questions about the main character’s life’s purpose.
You’ll follow Hassan’s story of crime and punishment, good vs evil, and his enlightenment process impeded each step on the way. Follow his trials from the states to abroad as he delves into foreign customs seeking answers to the philosophy of life with his nemesis in hot pursuit. The author’s background in music and theater provides dimensions to his storytelling making the chapter, A Date with the Almighty, believable, in mystic proportions.
Your Destination Has Arrived is whimsical at times and thoughts of poetic rhythm come to mind. The undercurrent throughout the novel is philosophically grounded with unpredictable beats rising and falling at peak points in the story. These unexpected shifts add suspense making it both a page-turner and easy reading. Barry Cheema’s thought-provoking story questions stereotypical profiling vs cultural relativism, each in its own way begging for the answers to life – do we get do-overs? And, what lengths will we go to find our purpose in life?
Your Destination Has Arrived is a delightful suspenseful and inspirational novel. One you’ll want to finish before you lay it down. Cheema has delivered an unbelievable story you’d love to believe. Highly recommended.
Really enjoyed reading this interesting and thought provoking book. It shakes your inner self and your sub-conscious mind from the repressed thoughts and expressions. Philosophy of life very well defined and very well composed. Well done Mr. Cheema, looking forward for your next book. Amitabh Garga.
