A couple of months ago I received a package from Glamisha. For those of you who don’t know, Glamisha is a relatively new brand in the field of luxury beauty and personal care products. All their products have pure ingredients, essential oils and extract.
So there are two products that I will be reviewing here-
-
Glamisha Face Wash 100 ML with Mulberry and Licorice Extracts
-
Glamisha Skin Lightening Cream 100 Gm with Kojic Acid, Dipalmitate and Arbutin Lotion
Glamisha Face Wash 100 ML with Mulberry and Licorice Extracts
So I have been using this face wash quite religiously. Atleast once a day, that is. Since I have an oily skin, I have been finding it quite good for my skin type. It certainly removes all traces of oil from my face which is great. However, at times I find if you don’t have a lot of oil, it can make your skin a bit dry. But it is nothing that little moisturising can’t solve. You know, since moisturising should be a part of your daily routine and all.
It leaves your skin feeling really fresh and smooth. You can literally feel the difference by touching your face before and after the wash. The face wash has a really pretty blue color and doesn’t have a very strong fragrance- a fact I like. This is definitely a must try. However, I would still recommend it for people with normal to oily skin. For dry skins, I am not sure if this is a good option for you.
Glamisha Skin Lightening Cream 100 gm with Kojic Acid, Dipalmitate and Arbutin Lotion
I am not exactly a big fan of Skin Lightening creams. The name in itself sounds very offensive to me. To say that this cream ‘lightens’ your skin- I am not sure if I can attest to this fact. It certainly adds an instant perk up to your face. But I don’t think it does anything more than that. Atleast it did not for me.
The good thing about this cream is that you don’t need to apply a lot of it. A small peanut size amount is good enough to cover your whole face and neck. However, I have found a great alternative use for this product.
Guess what?
It works AH-MAZING as a primer! Really, it does! It has got the perfect consistency for a face primer and it does not feel heavy on your skin at all. So all this while I have been using this skin lightening cream as a face primer and trust me, it works great. It gives your skin the perfectly even smoothness for a hassle free make-up application. In fact, I think it can certainly compete with the best face primers that are available out there!
Lastly, what is interesting about both these products is that they are Paraben Free.
So what does Paraben free actually means?
Parabens are a form of preservative that is widely used in the cosmetic and personal care industry. Products like soaps, conditioners, moisturizers, shampoo and deodorant frequently contain parabens. Companies include parabens in their personal care products to extend the shelf life of the product. When the right portion of parabens is added, bacteria and fungi cannot grow in it.
A study in 2004 said that parabens are linked to breast cancer and ever since then there have been doubts about the safety of using such products. The movement to keep parabens out of products is an example of the consumer’s power. Individuals and groups have worked hard to spread the word about the possible harmful effects of parabens.
Health advocates believe in making sure an ingredient is safe before its use in a product, so have spread the word about the possible safety issue with parabens. The appearance of more paraben-free products on the market is due to manufacturers listening to consumers. Thankfully, Glamisha is one of them.
