Foundation for Oily Skin- Makeup Forever HD Foundation

foundation

Choosing the correct foundation in India is a huge task. You need to look at a combination of factors to choose the right one for your skin tone and composition. Do you have oily skin or dry skin? Or a combination of both? Are you fair or wheat-ish or a dusky Indian beauty? And much more.

So the question I get asked a lot is what foundation do I use. I have an oily, acne prone skin which is a curse in Indian summer. So choosing the right foundation is essential. After much experimentation, trial and errors, I am glad to say that I have found the perfect match- the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation in the shade 375Y.

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation comes in two series- R and Y. R here represents Rose, which is for extremely fair skin while Y represents yellow which suits the majority of the Indian population. Why? Because we have melanin in our skin which gives us yellow undertones.

So the product comes in this really nice packaging and an easy to use pump container. It is a liquid foundation and has a beautiful velvety finish. It glides on to your skin nicely. As the name “Ultra HD” suggests, it is a full coverage foundation. It almost looks like second skin, the coverage is that amazing. So it is best used when you are going for a complete makeover that will last you a good 6 to 8 hours (without any touch-ups).

As is the case with every full coverage foundation, I do not recommend this for everyday usage because you need to let your skin breathe. And its price. But if that works for works, that works for you.

Availability: The Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation is available in India at all Sephora stores and some online sites like Amazon etc. However, I have never found my shade available at these e-commerce sites.

Price: Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation retails at 4000 INR at Sephora India. However, I got it from Sephora Bangkok at 1750 Baht which is around 3500 INR. On sites like Amazon, these are available at 6000 INR upwards.

P.S.- If you’d like me to suggest some cheaper alternatives for everyday usage, let me know in the comments below and I’ll get back to you.
