Albeit The Outlook’s recent evaluation of the Mr Modi’s popularity portrayed him to enjoy the highest popularity any prime minister of the sub-continent has enjoyed during the second leg of his/her marathon, sources in the government suggest he is battling with internal clashes. The alleged fights have divided the party into two factions. While the party’s intellectuals occupy one corner of the ring, the other corner is held by the ever enthusiastic hardliners that flank the corridors of BJP offices.
The Minister of Finance, Arun Jaitley is said to have visited 7, Lok Kalyan Marg last evening along with External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj. The two are said to have voiced their concerns and provided a strong wavelength to the silent fears of the people of Uttar Pradesh. Sources say that while the two cabinet ministers have previously gone against their personal beliefs/wishes to promote party unity, their patience is wearing thin. Jaitley who was upset about the non-extension of Chicago Booth’s distinguished professor of finance Raghuram Rajan’s term had let the matter slide and graciously welcomed the new Governor of RBI, Urjit Patel.
The Twitter queen of India, who is known to be a believer of free will and a supporter of LGBT rights also fell in line with the party policy last fall.
Chief Minister Aditya Nath, whose administration has already suspended 5 policemen in order to set an example, was unavailable for comment. In a press conference, the party’s multilingual spokesperson Sambit Patra denied the alleged rift stating that these were cheap attempts by the rival parties to allude the populace. A passerby who had red eyes and a “mellow” air about him said: “These people have half-baked knowledge. A hardliner Hindu technically isn’t a bad person, because Hinduism at the end of the day is a way of life. It is wrong to call a goon a ‘hardline hindu’. He is simply a dude with issues and should be put behind bars.”
Interestingly, within hours of these alleged differences, the opposition leaders were tweeting about the ruling party’s in-house battle.
