First Day, First Show: Marjaavaan MOVIE REVIEW

marjaavaan movie review

Movie: Marjaavaan
Director: Milap Zaveri
Starring: Riteish Deshmukh, Sidharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria and Rakul Preet Singh

Review: Where to begin? There is so much in this movie that doesn’t make sense to me at all. But let me start with the positives first. The music of the film is really good and thankfully, the movie is not really long. Sadly, the positives end just there.

There is nothing to look forward to in this movie, to be honest. And you can’t blame Siddharth Malhotra for it. He tried. But the script is bland. It seems like the writer was hoping the religious undertones would be enough to force emotions out of the audience but it feels like a stretch.

Personally, I have always liked Riteish Deshmukh. But what is the need to make him a three feet tall villain? Trying too hard, maybe. If you ignore all of that, Riteish did actually act quite well but how do you save a sinking ship with gaping holes?

Certainly not the forgettable actresses. The only saving grace of the movie are the supporting actors playing Raghu’s (Sid Malhotra) friends and a cop played by Ravi Kishan.
