If you are planning to visit Udaipur, you sure are spending a lot of time on Google looking for the perfect place to stay. Udaipur, better known as the City of Lakes, is a hot tourist destination. And as the name goes, you’d surely want to stay at a property that offers one stunning view of the lakes there. Panna Vilas Palace is one such place.
Located in the heart of the city, Hotel Panna Vilas Palace is right in front of the magnificent Fateh Sagar Lake in Udaipur. Its Lake Facing Rooms offer a breathtaking view of the lake, that is sure to leave you spellbound.
At the outset, you are greeted with a grand ancient style building that instantly transports you to the land of all things magical. There is a lovely lawn with a fountain to your left and as you move ahead, a very courteous staff greets you at the reception.

During my stay, I opted for the Lake Facing Room. As the name suggests, its Rajasthani style windows give you a mesmerising view of the lake. There is a comfortable seating that runs all along the windows which allows you to truly take in the beauty of this place.
As for me, I enjoyed my sunrises and sunsets on this beautiful lake while being seated next to the windows.
The rooms, in general, are extremely comfortable and have all the modern amenities that one can possibly ask for. From a dressing table to ample storage space, an array of green teas, coffees, TVs and much more, these spacious rooms have it all.
Decorated in a tasteful manner, the rooms at Panna Vilas Palace truly provide you with a luxury experience at great prices.
Panna Vilas Palace: Ambiance and More
The property is the perfect mix of past meets present. There are a lot of little details from pictures of old rulers to artefacts. These all come together to give the perfect old world charm to the place.
On the other hand, you will find ambient lighting, comfortable seating spaces, huge balconies all around the property. This is really wonderful as most old hotels in Udaipur are generally cramped. But being in Panna Vilas Palace gives you the feeling of being able to move around freely.
You don’t feel like you are paying for just a room. But rather a complete experience into the local history of Udaipur.
Not only this, the place also has a beautiful restaurant with multiple seating options. These include an AC restaurant, an open space and a rooftop restaurant.
Personally, I would definitely recommend the rooftop as the view of the lake from there is amazing. But if you are visiting Udaipur in summers, the AC dining space is a good option. It features glass panels, so it also gives you a view of the lake.
The food, of course, is also a highlight at Panna Vilas Palace. But more on that later.
